Here’s the first gallery of photos shot with the “Portrait” mode on OnePlus 6. In this mode, the OnePlus 6 uses the two cameras to create a depth mask of the scene and then apply a blur around the subject.
The end result resembles a camera with an APS-C / full frame sensor and a wide aperture lens.
As you will read more in my next review of OnePlus 6, I found that the depth mask that is obtained from the dual lens setup to be very convincing. I found that the portrait mode has a quality the of bokeh (blurred area) improved compared to previous devices as the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T that I’ve covered in previous portrait sessions.
Even the colors are always very natural and I find that the skin tone to be really very good.
I remember these photos were taken all in natural light. Sometimes I used a small reflective panel to help me to open some shadows and create the right contrast.
All the photographs here proposed have not been retouched, they are as they come out of the camera of the OnePlus 6.
Thanks to Niccolò and Eva for their precious time and style! We can’t wait to look forward for the next Pitti Uomo edition in June 2018! 🙂
