I was happy to have been contacted by actor, Kerim Troeller for a photo shoot in Florence.
Kerim is an up and coming actor in Hollywood and can be recently seen in director Michael Bay’s; “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”. He also has a film coming out this year called “We Will Part” and is set to star in a few big movies in 2016 that he can’t yet discuss.
For the shoot, Kerim had in mind two different ideas. In this blog post I will show the pictures we took in the first part of the photo shoot in the studio, where Kerim wanted to do portraits as a fighter. For this idea I worked with the natural light coming from the window in the studio that created a beautiful shadow on Kerim. The light was really interesting and gave the idea of a man in a prison, trying to think about his condition and trying to find a way out of it. Then there was a second idea to shoot in the studio: a villain portrait. For this second shoot, Kerim was wearing a beautiful suit with a pair of black leather gloves. I changed the light setup totally, creating a soft, but still contrasting light, to illuminate a part of the character and leave another part in the shadow. This is a common light setup that I use often because I really love it. The second part of the shooting was held outdoors and you can see the photos shot on the iconic Florence Duomo’s Tower!
