New set to test out new camera: Fujifilm X-Pro3 and X-T4
For this new photography set in Florence, I’ve planned a bit longer the preparation of all the elements since I want everything to be all right: from the set environment to the outfit, makeup and the model as well.
First of all, this new photo shot was a moment to test out the updates in my Fujifilm camera bag since I got a brand new Fujifilm X-Pro3 and Fujifilm X-T4 (more about them in a new blog post).
Then, what I had in mind was a photography set with some bright pure-tone colors. The stylist Maria gave me a suggestion about this new basketball camp a bit outside Florence. So I went there some days before to scout the location and I really fall in love with it! The place fitting perfectly for this shooting session!
I suggest you to give a look at the “Portraits” category: you can find other inspirational photosession shot in Italy and aboard with useful backstages, tips and suggestions!
Waiting for the correct light
Then we had to wait for the correct light: strangely enough, this year we had a very rainy spring so it seems very difficult to get a very nice weather day.
I was looking for one of my favorite light situations, strong sunlight that usually I control with a bounce of the reflector. This strong light was the key to achieve the intense contrast look in the colors I was looking for.
Photo session: technical notes
This photo session has been also one of the first in which I tested a new possible workflow: instead of editing the raw file using Capture One Pro (or Lightroom), I took full advantage of the X-Pro 3 and X-T4 to output a tiff file from the application Fujifilm X Raw Studio.
In this way, I was able to keep the elaborate look of my own customization of the film simulation without had to recreate them from scratch in Capture One. The base of the Film simulation for this session has been Classic Chrome and a big role in the look is due to the new option in the Chrome effects that pushes the tonal intensity of the reds/orange and blue.
