Black and White portraits in the Studio

Posted on Sep 7th, 2018

Well, I think it has been some years I’m not posting any black and white image.

I did a sort of commitment to myself that my photography work has to be only in color.

I love colors of course, but I think is not safe as an artist to limit yourself to one style. The “style” has not to be a cage.

By the way, if I’ve to name some of my favorite photographers, Herb Ritts, Jeanloup Sieff and Helmut Newton, their personal work was mainly done in black and white.

Let me know what you think about the color vs black and white vision in photography!

Photos shot in my studio, using a continous Led light and natural light coming from the studio’s window.

Shot with Fujifilm X-Pro2 and X-T2. I’ve used the 35mm f/1.4 and the 56mm f/1.2 lens.

Hello Jame, honestly I don’t remember, but given there was quite enough light I think it was at the minimum around 160 Iso, shutter speed around 1/100 to 1/200

Thanks Mark! Oh, I think you will get some gorgeous pics with the M9 and the 75mm f/1.8! I’ve tested the M9 some years ago with the 75mm and was an amazing lens!
