Pitti Uomo 94 Optical Photos

94 Pitti Immagine Uomo: Optical project

Posted on Sep 25th, 2018

For the 94th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, I’ve been asked to shot some photos of the guests attending the fair and then to do a graphic composition: they want to have the guests stand out from the graphic motif of the 94th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo.

To achieve the task, I’ve planned a small area where I’ve set up my “to-go” studio with a green screen backdrop. My assistant Gianmarco was very helpful since we had some problem with the wind that was moving the green screen.

The editing process then was: from the raw RAF file from the Fujifilm X-T2 I’ve converted the files in DNG using Iridient X-Transformer program, then edited the photos in Lightroom and further did the Green Screen cut-out in Photoshop using some different tools as the color mask selection. I’ve to say that even if I’ve used the green screen I had to edit the photos with some manual masking to get a nice cut-out, especially in some area around the hairs.

So here’s the selection gallery from the 94th Immagine Uomo Optical project!

Here’s the green screen backstage, so you can understand how the photos have been shots.
