The #InstaPitti project at the 92nd edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence

For the 92nd edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, I’ve been asked to develop further more the #instapitti project that I’ve started back in January.

Let’s see to recap it: during the Pitti Immagine Uomo fair, I’m stopping some of the attendees to pose for me for a picture. I chose the one that I like the most for color and general interest in the outfit they wear.
The surprise (for them!) coming at the moment I’m getting out from my bag the Lomography Lomo’Instant Automat! They are just expecting a digital picture, they are not ready for sure for an analog instant picture!

So my process is: take their own picture, then wait with them the 4/5 minute of the developing process. In that time come for me the most interesting part of the project ’cause I can get the attention and ask them where they’re come from, what they do as a business and in this way, I can create a connection.

The last part of the process is to re-photograph them back with the film in hand. In this part of the process, I’ve used the Fujifilm X100T since I want that 35mm equivalent field of view to get enough close, and the f/2 aperture allows me to put in focus the foreground and have the subject on the background slightly blurred.
