I have the possibility to use for a period of time the new Fujifilm GFX 50R.
I will use it mainly during the male fashion week of Pitti Immagine Uomo that is held this first week of January here in Florence.
On the mean time, just to get used about the new camera, I did a tour of the city during the lunch time to shot some first photos.
Wao! The files out of the camera are amazing! Especially when you zoom in and you look at the details in the shot: the lens resolve a very rich amount of details! For these photos, I’ve used the 45mm f/2.8 that is equivalent to the 35mm lens on the full frame format.
I’ve shot in raw + jpg and this photos I’m sharing here are the raw file edited in Lightroom. The Adobe program seams to manage the Fujifilm GFX 50R file perfectly. I’ve imported the same selection in Capture One Pro 12 and honestly, I couldn’t see so many differences in the details and colours I could get out. And my personal preference for these shots is the version of the photos I’ve edited in Lightroom.
Just one my note about the Fujifilm GFX 50R compared to the smaller APS-C X series camera: I’ve noticed that the sensor tends to recover less from the overexposure but on the other side the shadows are much, much cleaner! So I would suggest exposing more for the light, especially on critical situations like the one I’ve shot here.
Let’s keep in touch!
