Massimiliano is a friend who was born in the same city as me, Trieste. Massimiliano has lived for eight years in Amsterdam. It’s funny ’cause we not know each other from our own city but we’ve met during an evening organized by the group “Italians abroad” in The Netherlands.

By now it was for so many years that we haven’t seen each other, and the occasion for our “reunion” was my recent trip to Holland. The occasion was very good ’cause I had the pleasure to visit the new salon that Massimiliano opened just a few months ago. I was greatly amazed by the beauty of the place: the salon is very spacious and it gets inside a very nice bright and diffuse light; Massimiliano then has created a very pleasant environment that recalls back the old barber but taking also a clean and modern taste, especially with some Italian touches like the book “Speak Italian” by Bruno Munari, or a model of the Fiat 500 of 1957 and the Ferrari’s hat.
So if you are living or visiting Amsterdam and you are looking for a haircut or beard treatment, “Barberia Italiana” of Massimiliano is the right choice for you!

Update 2018: I’ve to write a very sad news. Unluckily The Barberia Italiana at the moment has been closed, waiting for further news about Massimiliano’s health conditions. If you are interest in it, please write a private message (no pubblic comments on this post to protect his privacy).

The photos here were shot with the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 and two lenses: for the wide shot I’ve used the Fujinon 10-24mm f/4, for the portrait pictures and close up the 52mm f/1.2 almost always the maximum aperture available.
